The Battle of Dallas
The Battle of Dallas took place in the Dallas area on May 28, 1864. Joe Johnston's Confederate army fell back and they went first to Allatoona Pass, then to the Dallas area and entrenched themselves. Lieutenant General John A. Logan's Army of the Tennessee corps probed the Union defensive line to exploit any weaknesses or a possible withdrawal. The Confederates were repulsed and suffered high casualities and the Union became victorious in this battle.
