Louisa May Alcott
Louisa in best known as the author of Little Women. She served as a volunteer nurse during the civil war. She went on duty at the ramshackle Union Hotel in Washington. Louisa got typhoid pneumonia on duty at the hospital and she still tried to keep up with her duties and take care of the wounded soldiers.
