"Stonewall" Jackson was a confederate general in the civil war. He's one of the best known confederate commanders after General Robert E. Lee. He earned his nickname "stonewall" Jackson at the First Battle of Bull Run because he sent his army ahead to bridge a gap in the defensive line against a union attack and General Bernard E. Bee exclaimed "There is Jackson Standing like a stone wall."
