"Stonewall" Jackson
During the Civil War, Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson was a Confederate general during the Civil War. He was one of the best know commanders in the war after General Robert E. Lee. Jackson got the nickname "Stonewall" during the Battle of Bull Run when Brigadeer-General Barnard E. Bee said "There is Jackson, standing like a stone wall." He was accidentally shot in the arm and had to get it amputated at the Battle of Chancellorsville and although he survived the amputation, he died 8 days later which caused a major setback for the Confederate Army.
